When the big boys talk.

This is the Maldives beach. Very pretty right? It looks a lot prettier on TV, and definitely a lot better if we had a chance to visit the place.

Watched it on Channel U last night. The clear waters (really very clear leh, I suspect you can even drink it) and the white sandy beaches (white cuz it is made of dead, decomposed corals) was really breathtaking. Supposedly, the Maldives will sink in 50-100years' time, due to rising sea levels, global warming, yada yada you know it better. The host of the show asked a few locals how they felt about it. Imagine your home sinking and you and your loved ones dying, your properties destroyed. It would be interesting to listen to their responses.

As usual, a large number of people do not believe it. Despite the tsunami several years back, they refuse to believe what tall waters can do to their home. It's understandable, of course. If some random stranger comes and tell me my home is sinking, I'll probably think it's an evil ploy or something. One of the more educated of the lot said, "We need the world to help us."

Next, think about the Copenhagen talk on Climate Change this year. I don't know much about it, other than the fact that the outcome of the talk wasn't desirable. It just gives me the feeling that when the big leaders come together and talk about things, every topic becomes a political topic instead of genuinely discussing to come to a compromise. We've seen it happen all the time, they talk and talk and yet nothing is done. Like in the case of poverty. I remember checking the stats in J1 for GP, and the stats had looked like this:

I checked it again just now and it still looks the same. Still the same old coutries at the top, Sweden, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark and Netherlands fulfilling the target they set to help the poor. 2010 is coming and I'm going to see if the countries who scheduled to reach this goal is doing anything about it. If you go to the poverty website HERE, the main page shows you the names of the children dying per hour due to hunger. It's really sad to see their faces pop up from the map. Each time I visit the site (I don't visit all the time), I tell myself I'm going to help them in future. Then again, frequent news on frauds makes you wonder where your money really goes to if you help them.

As we move into 2010, we could probably include a little resolution that is not for ourselves alone. Yes, Non Mihi Solum. Maybe besides making promises to lose weight or do well for the next exam, we could take a little time to do something for the world. Be it cutting down on plastic bag usage or donating a little to the old man selling tissue, I believe we can all start small to make an impact.

I will leave you with the lyrics in the first verse of my all time favourite MJ song, Heal the World.

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow.
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow.
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space, make a better place

Beneath all the plastic surgery we claim he had done, his heart is beautiful. I hope we have beautiful hearts too as we welcome the new year.

Christmassy Christmas.

Back from my much awaited family gathering. (:

Great time catching up with 21 other people. Omg, I can't believe my grandma's house can actually accomodate so many. Kids couldn't stop making noise, and my cousin Bryan kept whining for his present. Usually when kids do such things I would prolly secretly slap their face but he's too cute lah. I think he knows he's cute too so he's trying to charm his way through. Can't wait to see them grow up and we'll have much more to talk about another 10 years down the road perhaps. (:

Steamboat was fab, last minute shopping with sis for presents was tiring and sad because we realised how broke we were. My sis kept converting price tags to work days, like "If we buy this for so-and-so it's like 5 hours of my pay gone." It's always like that when you first start working. When I first took orders at NTUC for Christmas I didn't even spend a single cent of my pay because I couldn't bear to. Oh, and one of my cousins made a pinata! Which took a really long time and lots of whacks before it broke! Haha, I stepped on it and it was still as hard as rock lah.

But presents were sooooooooo expensive. Burns a big big hole in my pocket, esp when I'm unemployed. I'm going to work tomorrow to earn some money! Finally, I get to earn some pocket money. I wonder when they will go to my pocket though. HAHA.

Got to do bidding all over again, it's rather tiring to view all the modules and arrange timetables again, and I hope I get the hang of it soon. :/ Mini home Minds Cafe, anyone game enough for the idea? I got 3 new board games at home now, thanks to Christmas gift exchanges! No, not all three are mine but I believe I can kope them from my sis.

To do list before school starts:
1. Exercise at least one more time. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
2. Visit Xiao Mei! (: Anyone free?
3. Finish The Time Traveler's Wife. :D

Oh, and I got to say how much I hate it when people tell me, "I'm bored. Entertain me." I think it is a rude statement to make to anyone and doubly detestable when I'm in a bad mood. "I'm bored." alone is fine but "Entertain me" is a command which no one deserves. Sigh, why do some people just don't get it.

MOF2 signs of with a Boomz. Anger resolved!

Answers of the Day.

Merry Christmas!

Anyway, to answer my own question posted a long time ago, which our kind friend Mr Chai has answered, about Man being born evil or good, my take is that we would all like to believe we are born good. Who likes being evil anyway? But I believe we have all entertained evil thoughts before--how many times have we thought, "I want to kill her." To have such thoughts cross your mind says something about Man, and if there weren't laws governing behaviour, you may have killed her. For more information, you can read THIS, quite interesting. (:

In reply to whether it would be better to be male or female, I think it does not really matter. Like I heard from one of those talk shows, this person made a comment saying that whether you are male or female, you need to be able to play the role of both sexes. Meaning, a father needs to learn how to cook, do the housework, in addition to making ends meet whereas a mother needs to learn to make a living and survive on her own, in addition to her socially prescribed roles of child rearing and doing the household chores. We are no longer living in the olden days where one sex dominates. Women have proven themselves to be capable--they merely need the chances. A male may say NS is tough, he has to give up his freedom, his family, and perhaps even his life to defend the country in times of need. Is a woman then not required to put her life at risk when she gives birth? Some may say, well, the woman can choose not to give birth. Can't the man not choose to defend the country then? There is a way to do everything, and it all boils down to one word--choice.

Intriguing questions of the day, I hope you have given these issues some thought. While it may not seem as pressing as ice caps melting and flooding low-lying islands plus polar bears dying, I realise that these questions often have ambiguous answers. That's the beauty of the arts, we don't only see black and white, we see the grey areas and acknowledge their existence.

Sometimes, there isn't only two sides to a coin. If you stare hard enough, you can see the third side.

MOF2 says Merry Christmas! (:
Question of the day: How to cure a semi-sore throat? (Meaning going to be sore but not sore yet?)

Life so far...

Life so far:

1. BBQ 151209

My sis has awesome friends, so awesome I wonder why they end up befriending my evil sister from Mars. Haha. Fire was memorable, cuz two of my sis' girl friends started it. Really awesome, I can't even barbeque properly and they can start a fire! :O They barbeque well too, food was great. And pass the water bottle to Ma Ying Jeou!

2. The Princess and the Frog

Either I've passed the age of 'Once Upon A Time' fairy tales and 'And they lived happily ever after' endings, or the story sucks. Don't know, I think the villian appeared quite abruptly and I didn't even know why he existed till nearing the end. Then again, Fairy Godmother appeared quite abruptly too in Cinderella and the seven dwarfs actually let a stranger in their house just because she's chio. WHAT VALUES ARE WE INSTILLING IN OUR KIDS THESE DAYS! :O But 2D for a change is refreshing, at least we won't be conned into spending $2 more for some weird 3D glasses.

3. POP Book fair

Books, lots of books. I almost managed to finish reading Liu Qian's (say magic MAGIC magic MAGIC MAGIC show!) book on 30 magic tricks that all guys must know. HAHAHAHAHA. Please ask me to show you, it's so super omega funny!

4. Christmas shopping

For kids in my house. Cuz they are planning a Christmas gathering with steamboat at grandma's! I can't wait! Hope the kids liked our presents, my sis and I spent sooooo much money on them. :( And I'm not even employed yet! But I love Toys R Us!

So, with 3 more weeks to school again (awwwwwwwww) and 3 more days to result release (OMGOMGOMG), life is going to be so shingz. But my mum and dad li jia chu zou to go and par tuo, and my little sis is staying over at my aunt's. SO I'M BORED. VERY BORED.

MOF2 needs legs for mahjong!

NATTHANAN JUNKRAJANG.

Inside joke. Can't make it outside here, because Timothy will kill. And I can sense the fire in his eyes already. And I can't say NATTHANAN JUNKRAJANG, but other people can, so you can ask them! (:

Pizza Hut beats Canadian hands, feet, stomach down. Canadian's garlic bread is cheat, it's like Delifrance's Baguette (is that how you spell it? I pronounce it as Ba-kut-teh and it makes sense.) with garlic spread at $1.70, when you can get nicer bread and make your own spread. At least I did one out of the many many things I wanted to accomplish during this holidays, and that is to order Pizza Hut Delivery! :D

Had cake too, whee. Time to start making Christmas cards! I'm not going to send them through mail because I'm cheapskate so I don't buy stamps. I'll make lots and lots of Christmas cards. If you're reading this you'll probably get one becaues DUH, I'm a nice person. So make me a card now! Oh, and I even borrowed books on card making! When I think of ways to get more money I'll buy presents, haha.

The Time Traveler's Wife is confusing, but I still love the book though I haven't finished it. It's nice to tell people you're reading TTTW, makes you sound a bit pro-er than if you say you're reading (tempted to type Ziggy and the Plugfish but no I will not), I don't know, a book about Shopaholics. Which I was reading then. I love myself for being able to think of TTTW at the most important moments.

I'm addicted to mahjong. It gives a whole new meaning to life. The person who invented mahjong should be a groundbreaker. I wonder why I didn't do PW on him/her. And monopoly is scary. I thought my heart was going to jump out lah, scaryyyyyyyy. Next time let's play something milder. Like pictionary or something. I'm old and can't take scary games.

Chunks and chunks of paragraphs. Time for a list!

Things I still want to do before the holidays end:
1. Go orchard/bugis. I haven't been town since the 5mins in ION Orchard that day after Botanic Gardens. .___.

2. Class gatherings of course! :D

3. Baking. Baking. Baking. Whose house also can, I just want to bake my cake and eat it.

4. Finish reading Criminal Minds. Kind of hard though, when you can choose between TTTW and that.

5. KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.

6. Astro outing which worm's going to plan. That night I saw this ball of blue red blue red blue red object in the night sky, and I thought of my juniors! Hope they aren't in army yet.

7. Pack my table. That day when I was using webcam with Seeing and Baowen I had to ensure they don't see my table... HAHAHAHAHA.

8. Lucky 8, uh, oh yes, I want to go to beach/park! My evil sis is going to make me go all the way to Changi to help her check in chalet for her classmates. EVILLLLLLL. And it suddenly dawned upon me that.........

I'm above 18.

This is SHINGZ. Double SHINGZ. Triple SHINGZ. And I'm going to be, OHMYTREASUREMADNESS TWENTY YEARS OLD. WHAT KIND OF AN AGE IS THAT. THAT'S TOO OLD. TOOOOOOO OLD.

Stomach Flu.

Plus Points:
1. Can not eat without feeling hungry for the whole day. Since you vomit whatever you eat anyway.
2. Which gives you the feeling that you are dieting, without having to restrain yourself.
3. Can act useless by lying on the bed all day long since you don't have energy to move much.
4. Can sleep all day since you feel tired though you slept half the day away already.
5. Which means your hair and nails grow long! Helps you become Rapunzel faster.
6. Experience bullimia without being bullimic.
7. Save money by not going out and not eating.
8. You have all the time to youtube-hop at home. :D

Minus Points:
1. Still must play Ultimate Bullseye. Gosh, this sucks. Ultimate Bullseye sucks to the max.
2. You cannot go out. By the way, I think there are rashes on my face and it looks horrifying. I'm not going to be gross and show you all the picture because you will stop being my friend after this. And I'm supposed to go Kbox tomorrow then dinner with some other friends. :(
3. Your mouth tastes of vomit all the time no matter how many Fisherman's Friend you eat.
4. You puke unwillingly at unearthly timings, eg 3am. (Who pukes at 3am you tell me?!)
5. Your sis asks you not to touch the com lest you pass your virus to the com.

So, the Plus Points > Minus Points. I should be glad.

When am I going to stop falling sick?

Question of the day.

Do you think all man are born evil but because there are consequences of doing evil things, i.e. being jailed, fined, ostrasized, looked down upon etc so we don't do them? Or do you think we are good by nature but because the benefits of doing evil things outweigh the benefits of being good so we stray and become bad?

I want to know your opinions. Tag if you have the time. If you need a long reply, you can always click the comment button and leave me a nice tag so that I know. If you want to write an essay, you can always email to wearethemofs@gmail.com and leave me a tag so that I'll check the email.

Because I think we are all secretly evil.

MLIB MLISB MLISMB!

It's me again!

I think you'll be bored seeing me blog the same things everyday. Haha. But I can't help it since MLIB. Or maybe MLISB (My Life Is Super Boring). Or maybe even MLISMB (My Life Is Super Mega Boring).

I went to the library because I finished reading my book already (tells you how free I am). I've read 2 books already since the holidays started and played mahjong twice. Yesterday I went to Mount Faber with family and it was practically the highlight of the week. Tells you how bored I am huh.

I'm repeating the word 'bored' so many times I think you are bored by it too.

Go play Treasure Madness!

I went to walk walk at Northpoint and I bought gift tags to make Christmas cards. I know they are supposed to be gift tags but I'm not feeling rich enough to get gifts so I'm going to use those tags to make cards. And they are so cheap, 20 tags for $2. So omega cute too.

ASK ME OUT!

By the way, GYM Soh called me at the unearthliest hour to ask me to ask him and Timothy out for their nights out. So I'm asking you who stays in Admiralty and you who stays in Sembawang if you are free on Wednesday to ask GYM Soh out. Wednesday happens to be the submission of Ultimate Bullseye scores! :D

KFC Buddy Meal.

I have a craving for Buddy meal.

Haha, I don't think anyone would read this in time to accept my invitation for a buddy meal.

But it has been some time since I last ate KFC's chicken! :D

Today, I played Treasure Madness. Yesterday, I played Treasure Madness. Tomorrow, I will play Treasure Madness. MLIB.

And where are all the well-paying assignments... I need to occupy my time.

10 Symptoms of Illness.

You know you are sick when...

1. Your body feels sore like you've just run 24km except your aren't sweating and panting heavily.

2. Your taste buds seem to have flown to Honolulu for the holiday and left your tongue alone. Extreme cases are when coke tastes like plain water with calories and besides chilli, nothing else has taste.

3. You feel like lying in bed all day yet you don't feel like lying in bed all day.

4. Mucus can't stop flowing out of your nose. You try to stop that by sniffing in hard but it tries to flow out at a rate of 1cm3/second.

5. You find yourself craving for Honey Lemon Strepsils and Fisherman's Friend. And you start drinking pi pa gao like water. Of course, all these are to no avail.

6. You breathe using your mouth uncontrollably. Yes, we know that breathing in with your nose is better because the tiny hairs in your nose can trap dust, but currently its choking with mucus.

7. You have cravings which you are unable to satisfy. Like now I want to eat Ruffles. Badly.

8. You fall asleep every night praying that you won't get a sore throat with all the breathing with your mouth thing.

9. You say Shingz when you can't find flu tablets and Panadol at home. SHINGZ.

10. Everyone else replies Get Well Soon to this post.

I think I should come up with a book of lists. I love to make lists. They are easy to read (for you) and easy to write (for me). Please update your blogs because besides trying to renew by own Bejeweled Blitz highscore, I have nothing else to do.

Tips to high-scoring in Bejeweled Blitz

Exams are over! I think my English tutor rocks. (:

Mahjong tomorrow! I'm bored now you know, so free. Haha.

I've to start searching for better paying jobs. I only have enough to last me till end of the year. Which means I can't get christmas presents for you! HAHAHA. :D

So today I shall attempt to write a guide on topping your score on Bejeweled Blitz! Due to popular demand (I think only Seeing wants to know but who cares), you get to know the secret to getting >250,000 and beat your friends! But try not to beat my score, I'm depressed cuz I'm sixth on my list.

Anyway, here are the tips!

1. Click fast fast.
As in, really fast fast. Try to do consecutive clicks. Usually when I can't do consecutive clicks, I restart the game. Saves time. :D

2. Make the L shaped or T shaped combis.
I Love Them! :D Can zap zap zap away all those adjacent to it! If not you can also try to make those 4-in-a-row kind, but zap away less.

3. Switch on volume when playing.
It gives me a sense of rhythm (REALLY!) and immense gratification (DJD's fav word) to hear the booms and the falling crystal sounds. And when you stop hearing those sounds you know you have flouted rule number 1.

4. Try to look at the speed indication.
When you click consecutively, you get to this stage whereby they will let you boomz everything in 10seconds, which is really cool if you previously got crystals to multiply your scores. And sometimes you think you clicked consecutively but you aren't fast enough. The speed indication will tell you that, and it'll be time to restart the game!

5. Get rid of all X(number) crystals.
This is by far the most important, and adds an element of luck into the game as these do not appear at a fixed rate. I feel (not proven ah) that when you boomz things these crystals tend to appear faster, but as I said and I'll reiterate, it's not proven. :D If you can get to around X5, you should be getting more than 200,000 already.

6. Delete friends with higher scores.
Except for me, cuz I taught you this. :D

Alright, it's time to boomz your way through the game and scare your friends!

MOF2 signs off. She can't wait for mahjonggggggg. :D

Fishball Noodles

That's the uber cool banana packet drink from seeing's readings!

Seeing, mahjong I can't wait! I want to eat Ruffles after exams, but I think I'm going to have a sore throat soon. It's starting to hurt a litte. And I want to eat Astons! :D

I have one more paper left, and I'm quite sick of studying already. I feel what Mr. Kenya Hara said in Seeing's e-learning lecture--Emptiness. It's like if you take out my heart you see nothing. No matter how hard you try to dig it's empty. Well, it sounds quite gross actually, don't picture it.

Then again, my psych textbook has this paragraph on Don't Think of A White Bear, which is essentially about if you ask someone NOT to think of something, the tendency is that you would think of it. Like when I asked you not to picture the gross heart, I bet you did. And also for the white bear. (: Yay, I love feeling a little cleverer.

Nothing to post about, really, unless you want to hear Studying at BK stories. I tell you, BK is like a discussion room in the library lor. Besides going there to study and play cards, few people actually go there. I saw a group of about 10 people playing cards there and they did not even bother to buy a drink from BK for show. They even smuggled bubble tea in. Worse, they brought FISHBALL NOODLES in. I was :O and wanted to laugh lah. So funny. But I did feel like eating fishball noodles after that, LOL.

Please give me lots of luck for 22Dec. I will need it, seriously. :(

Ohoh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOF3! (: I know you don't like to SEE peopLE Keep mentioning your name. I hope it's not too obvious! HAHA. :D Though I think you won't see the message but I think you can count the thoughts (cuz it's the thought that counts).

1) Stop being so skinny.
2) Stay healthy. (means no sleep late and 8hours of sleep everyday)
3) Become a pro in Actuarial Science!
4) Ace your exams!

I'm trying to utilise my textbook to the maximum by using the online resources, but there's something wrong with my internet--it keeps hanging. Sighhhh. How ah, I am such a low tech person I can't stand myself sometimes.

Last but not least, all the best for exams! 197318237891 class outings after that! I can't wait.

Onion Ring Angel.

I look at my 2 heavy textbooks everyday. It makes my heart heavy. It makes my heart heavier when I know that I won't use these two heavy textbooks anymore. Worse, the bookshop auntie's pocket is heavier with all the money she's earning (and will earn) from me. Heavy heart.

Onion ring angel my sis and I made a year plus ago. I think you can infer from the picture posting that I finally learnt to upload pictures from my handphone to my com. I feel so high tech. You will be seeing a lot of pictures around here soon. Aren't you glad!

Anyway, I, or rather, we, can't wait for exams to be overrrrr. Ah Jen do you have exams? When do they end then? We haven't seen you for 92138109 years already. Did you find a dragon and elope with him, secretly? And I think I update so often I'm beginning to think I'm irritating. .___.

Oh, secretly is Dior's word. We should credit her for it. (Dior 2007, n.d)

I am full of ideas of how to enjoy myself after exams. Like brimming with ideas. And I don't know why ants are crawling all over my table. About 2-3 or them are running around as if there's a fire. Maybe they like to eat textbooks. What else is there to eat? Calculators? Bag? Hole puncher? Despo ants.

Jobjab, your prediction came true! One clap for you. (silent clap)

Talented people suck >:(

This girl is amazing. Oh my, I'm addicted to youtube. SHUCKS.

I watched her on Oprah a few weeks ago, and she told Oprah Winfrey that her idol is Celine Dion and she hopes to sing with her one day. And nice Oprah Winfrey actually skype on the show with Celine Dion and allowed her to hear this girl's performance. She's called Charise Pempengco, from Phillipines. Amazing voice.

And and and, last night I was listening to Leona Lewis. Okay, watching would be more suitable, since it was on youtube again. Shingz lah, so addicted. But go watch her performances if you could, her 'A Moment Like This' is better than Kelly Clarkson in my opinion, and singing 'Bleeding Love' seems like a waste of her talent. She's from X-factor, Britain's show I think. And Simon Cowell loves her to bits. I'm going to find time after the exam to watch all her performances. She sang lots of other songs too, all very very nice. And I like her personality too, just go take a look at her videos! :D

Don't you just hate talented people. SIGH. Especially talented kids who can sing so well. With all these talents, I don't even want to watch Singapore Idol. LOL. Okay, I should not look down on local talent, but they are really nowhere comparable. Are the talented ones not coming forth, or those coming forth not talented? I don't know, I believe there are local talents, Kit Chan and Corraine May being one of my favourite voices. Sure there are others, where are you?

I think I blog more than I study. At this rate, I might as well quit school and become a full time blogger. Since both doesn't pay anyway. Unconventional route, will you dare to be different?

MOF2 signs off, she can't stand reading her own posts, so boring. Please watch the videos, and I can post Leona Lewis if you guys want to watch, really! :D

Lu Wu HWEELING Boh?

Hello, this rainbow is captured on paper. It was refracted by the glass at BK and I tried to take a photo of it by putting paper at an angle. Some reflection refraction thingy, I don't know, I stopped believing in Newton since Sec2. Very cool though.

And I attempted to draw an ambigram today, for the word 'Yeah'! HAHA. I know it's easy to draw that, but my aim is to draw my name one day. :D

I've been watching this black and white movie for a long long time (for exam okay I am not slacking though I run my Roller Coaster Kingdom and Restaurant City and Cafe World at the same time...) and it makes me very irritated. Black and white is bad enough, no subtitles make it worse and the youtube takes 129389 years to load. And sometimes it loads and gets stuck halfway. I'm using earphones cuz my sis is sleeping and my ears are hurting. I am constantly reminded of the fact about earphones having a lot a lot of bacteria and multiplying in your ears. It kind of freaks me out but I have to wait for the dumb movie to load while noting the suspense and all.

I finally remembered to reply 3 long overdue emails, and it makes me happy. I think writing emails are nice. Maybe they could start a new trend with emails lor, just like how blogs started. But watching bloggers earn so much I think I should start making my posts more interesting so that you guys would set this site as your homepage. And I should stop increasing the hits of GYM Soh's blog cuz I use his blog to come to my blog (HAHA, IRONIC!) and access other people's websites. Teehee. Don't you just love people who link blogs!

Okay, seems like the part 10 of my lau pok black and white movie is not loading. Sigh I shall watch it another day... :(

Random note, but if any of you smoke, I'm going to stop being friends with you. Esp army boys. I know the cause of you smoking because my psych textbook says it's something to do with cognitive dissonance but I don't think it's a valid excuse. What's more, swearing is bad enough. Smoking makes it worse. I am biased against smokers.
ANYWAY! Watch this: Eternal Flame in Hokkien. Uberr funny. I watched it like 3 times over. LOL. Wa Tau Kua Li Kun (for I watched you sleep) Hahahaha.

MOF2 signs off, and hopes her neighbour stops smoking. SIGH, she prays daily for them to stop smoking for their own good, but they don't seem to care.

6. Eat at the McDonalds.
7. Stay overnight in school. (Find a way. Maybe camp in library?)
8. Learn something new. In the non-academic way.
9. Be involved in something big.

My Life Is Average.

This is the funniest from MLIA I've seen. Anyway, I think FML is way funnier but my sis likes MLIA. Happened to see this on a fb status.

Today, I renamed my recycle bin to Azkaban. Then I made a folder and named it Voldemort. When I clicked delete, my computer asked me: "Are you sure you want to send Voldemort to Azkaban?" MLIA

Okay, going to watch a movie. Not the cinema movie, but a movie for my module. Tell me my life is average.

MOF2 again, what's new?

Safe than sorry, or safe AND sorry?

I think I am the most scaredy person in the whole wide world.

For so many years, I have always taken the safe option. I believe it's better to be safe than sorry. But I forgot that we only live once, and what's there in life if we do not venture out of our comfort zone and start taking risks?

And I don't mean calculated risks. If you calculate them, you are still trying to be safe. Secretly.

I don't do things spontaneous enough. I don't sleep without envisioning how my day will be like tomorrow. I plan what I want to do, and I plan that I do not complete what I set out to do, and I therefore plan that I will complete them some time later. I think I am beginning to morph into a boring adult who only cares about resumes and cover letters and money and good job and earning a living and excelling. So boring.

To a certain extent, I envy my angmoh friend a lot. That is besides the fact that she has an angmoh boyfriend of course. And that is also besides the fact that her angmoh boyfriend looks not bad. I apologise for digressing, but I can't help but comment.

Anyway, I admire her for her guts to venture out of the comfort zone. I admire her for her spirit of exploration. I admire her for her ability to put down everything and leave her loved ones. I think I cannot do that. Or rather, I restrain myself by telling myself that I cannot do that, and so I do not do that. Self-fulfilling prophecy, they call it.

Go think about your own lives then. What is the most daring thing you have done? What is the most spontaneous thing you have done? What is the thing you want to do most and why haven't you done it?

I'm sorry if I made you feel like a loser. It's just that when you feel like a loser, you don't want people to feel like a winner. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

MOF2 signs off with her evil plot.

P.S. I hope Princess Jen gets well soon. And Seeing, I forgot what the minor thing was. Actually it's so minor you can forget about it. And SHINGZ YOU DOUBLE TIMES Joab!

Happy 100.

100th post, doesn't it deserve a little celebration? (:

I am sick. As in flu+cough kind of sick. Was on my way to school today and felt like vomiting. Sat at one of the benches at Northpoint for some time, and when I thought I was ready to go, it came out. Talk about bystander effect--the auntie continued to mop her floor in front of me as I vomited into a plastic bag. I felt so angry lah, must I faint before someone cares enough to help? In the end I sat for a good 30mins there, staring into space before I could muster enough energy to walk home.

Week 12 now, 2 more weeks to exams. I haven't replied Miss Ter (who went to see a court case yesterday! How cool!) and Ah Sin's emails. Shall leave that till next week/reading week, when I bombard them with everything about my Crime Fiction Project. Presentation's today and I'm kind of excited, cuz DJD and I wrote this super awesome script which we turned into a recording with another groupmate, and we really want it to work! :D

And I received a minor good news yesterday, which made me jump for joy for like 1min. Long time since I've gotten good news, and now I'm going to work harder and harder. I will stop allowing myself to fail myself! Jiayou everyone, whether you are dealing with nude drawings or strings, satay sticks and bricks or chemicals or lab reports or calculations or whatever's important! It's going to be over soon! (:

MOF2 signs off. The doctor advised her to enjoy her uni life. Funny how we manage to talk more about my uni life than my illness. Take care, people!

Shingz you.

This word is addictive. I almost wanted to Shingz my tutee when she wasn't paying attention. SA2 is like a day away, Shingz right.

Zhen Fa yesterday was so Boomz. iSketch too, especially Boomz with super-sin playing too! (: And Miss Ter replied my email, she sounded so boomzly formal. Haha. And I feel like my boomz letter writing skills are put to the test again. Next time can ask Miss Ter to play with us too, since their afternoon is our nightime. So shingz, make me so tired.

And shingz ah sin and shingzuuuuu for not guessing the boomz drawing I drew lah. Made me so shingz. I draw for you all to guess. Please make a boomz guess or I'll shingz you. The two shingz guessed like groundsea, seaslide, groundwater, grassland, so shingz guesses right. Made me soooo shingz I wanted to eat my com. But cannot eat lah, later I boomz.

By the way, I fear that Ris Low's condition might worsen soon, with all the media attention and all. She looks kind of unstable to me. And no, I'm not laughing at her with all the boomz and shingz, I'm just wondering how come no one ever thought of such an ingenious word which we could use all the time. Boomz right?

MOF2 shingz off, boomz you all!

Zen and Cheesecake

The thought of steamboat buffet tonight makes me excited! :D I went to read reviews of Zhen Fa, and they were all pretty good. I've made a mental note to try the cheesecake and FONDUE, yes, FONDUE! I saw on TV a couple of times, think they have sushi too. (:

Wanted to not eat all day just for the steamboat, but grandma kept nagging at me to eat and I didn't want to disappoint her. So at 2.30pm I went to cook a bowl of instant noodles to show her that I'm not deliberately starving myself. I hope it isn't too filling cuz I can't wait to try all the food at buffet tonight! And the thing I'm least interested in is actually the steamboat itself. HAHA.

Anyway, was reading Si Aun's blog entry just now about More=Good and whether More=Less. Wanted to comment on it but I can't find a tagboard or the Leave A Comment button. Someone please feedback to him. If he happens to read this, then my take is Less=More=Good. I know it sounds like an irritating mathematical equation (gosh I haven't done Maths for close to a year! I mean, if you don't include simple calculations like calculating my income for the month. :D ) but it'll make sense if you read his entry.

Then I started wondering if I was being too shallow. HAHA. I don't really post complex thoughts here do I. I don't know, I just didn't see the need to complicate you with another complex post. It's as if life isn't already complex enough. Maybe reading about a greedy girl (I'm still a teen okay, teen is defined as anyone in the age of teen, i.e. from thirteen-nineteen. Now you know why eleven and twelve year olds aren't teens) being excited about steamboat and cheesecake and FONDUE(!!!) will help you relax your mind. Zen, Dharma, Meditation. Ohmmm.

Now I sould like some yoga poster, don't I.

I've been slacking the weekend away, doing nothing constructive. Thought I'll start on Developmental Psychology a bit buttttttt, procrastination! Anyway, me and DJD are working on this really fun project (I hope it's just not me!) and you guys can feel free to offer to help when we meet tonight! (:

MOF2 signs off, meditating in a Zen-like room, thinking about fondue and cheesecake.

Act Busy on Laptops.

According to statistics, 48.1% of people are not actually Busy when they put their status as Busy on Instant Messaging (which I believe is MSN). Do you belong to the 48.1%? I was kind of puzzled as to why people would want to act busy--I mean, you go on MSN so that people can talk to you right? Why would you go online and be busy and never available? I can understand if it's for a project or something like that, but there are some who are forever Busy.

That statistics (I don't know if you can see) was on 19Oct's My Paper. Study done by some NUS prof from Communications and New Media I think. :D

Anyway, I realised it's not nice to call angmohs 'angmoh', so I'm going to use a socially understood term--Others. Like Chinese, Malay, Indian, Others you know. Too much of Socio-o-logy. I have this Other friend (pun pun, did you catch that? does seeing know what is a pun yet?) whose laptop is from her country, Germany. And it's really cool cuz the Control key is labelled in German, the symbols are slightly different, the position of keys are slightly different. And I was staring at my laptop today, and I realised why my laptop looks so wide.

It's because...

I have the number pad! :O

I just realised it you know. I was struggling to use the arrow keys to play Waka-Waka on Facebook (my uncle broke my highscore, pffffffft) cuz according to seeing, I have fat fingers. Fine, I said so myself, but she constantly reminds me of it and now I am very concious of it. Stop staring at my fingers, even as you read this post I can sense you trying to see my fingers. So now with the realisation that there IS actually a number pad, I can play Waka-Waka more happily! Whee!

Projects are due so so soon, and it's really scary. I don't want to cause tutees to suffer because of this, yet I can't be irresponsible towards my project mates. :(

By the way, Ah Sin, you better reply my email soon. I wanted to tell you today for my lecture we watched 'Ye Shang Hai' 's MV and I thought of you! And then we watched the 'Shang Hai Tan' song (called The Bund for some reason, I'm going to learn how to sing that so we can go K when you come back!) and I thought of you again! It's canto lor, and I kept screaming out the words like 'yat' and 'ngoi' to Val to show off my Canto till she said Stop it. LOL. I <3 my modules.

MOF2 signs off. I'm going to type an email to Miss Ter soon, anyone got anything to say to her? (:

Fav FML of the week.

This is irritating I know, putting a blog post after another, but you have to see this:
Today, my research partner emails me 2 hours before our deadline saying that she can't complete her half of our 20 page report because when she woke up this morning she couldn't see. How did she write the email? FML.

And the person who posted is called NUsConstantine. I strongly believe it means something. HAHA.

Meet-The-People's Session

I'll be helping out at Meet-The-People's Sessions soon, haha. Contrary to popular belief (or is it only my own belief?), a lot of people actually attend it. A lot of citizens have complaints. It works something like a polyclinic--take a number, go see the counter staff (who will write your complaints) and if need be you get to see the doctor (the MP) and wait to recover from your illness (for something to be done to your complaint).

Previously, the only person I knew who went to a Meet-The-People's session was PJ. Shhhhh, don't tell the others, she needs to be a glam princess and fairy godmothers aren't supposed to tell secrets. Then again, I don't know if it's supposed to be a secret, so I'll tell you first and if it's supposed to be a secret, too bad cuz I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret. I repeated the phrase 'supposed to be a secret' three times, isn't it irritating!

My opinion of my first trip there is that it's rather interesting, and it was an eye-opener for me. (: As to why I have to go for it, I shall be secretive. If you are interested enough, I'll tell you (secretly). But you must first say the magic word:

Phelpslovespriscillaandpriscillalovesphelpsforeverandevertilltheswimmingpoolsdryup

Maybe if you say it 10times I will tell you. If I don't, then say it a hundred times, or maybe a thousand times. Or maybe till the swimming pools dry up.

PJ's blog entries are getting shorter and shorter. From three-four paragraphs to one paragraphs to one sentence, and even now her sentences are shortening. Her latest entry consists of only 5 words, as compared to her last one-liner entry of 8 words. Isn't the statistic shocking?

MOF2 signs off, and you all can visit her at the next Meet-The-People's session. She promise to write all your complaints down faithfully like a faithful person, sincerely like a sincere person, and seriously like a serious person. Doncha just love similes?

SPREAD THE LOVE.

LOVE LOVE, xf knows!

Everyone sounds really busy. But this is SPREAD THE LOVE WEEK. Love love everyone. On Wednesday you are supposed to surprise a friend with his/her favourite food, did you do that? (:

Mid term tests are finally over (for me), and project deadlines are so near. I hope I can enjoy the remaining weeks of the first semester, because it'll all be over soon!

Uni wise, I have nothing to write that will interest you, but then again, besides uni, what else can I write about?

I don't even have time to start on The Time Traveller's Wife! :( I've been wanting to read it since forever, and now the only things I read on the long train rides are notes/readings/detective stories. I hear you say boringgggggggg. Yes, I know.

Anyway, I gathered that everyone else is as no life as I am. I do read your tags, really. It's always nice to see that someone reads, and (hopefully) the posts have made you smile. Or at least 'um chio', if you can pronounce that the correct way. Your tags make my day, and fuel my "undying love" and "burning passion". It's almost like the torch relay for the Olympics. HAHAHAHA.

By the way, strawberry and mango juice is not bad. Try it!

Today, I met one of my primary school friends. It was so amazing. She looked at me and asked if I was in the same primary school, and I nodded my head and told her honestly I didn't remember her. Then I realised she was my Primary 1 best friend. HAHA. She changed so much and she was transferred to another school so we lost contact. But it's nice to know that there's one more familiar face to say hi to in school. Through xf, I got to know a few people I've never talked to in jc before. And there's this connection (for a lack of a better word) because you share something similar. Haha. Like if you were thrown in a foreign place you'll identify with any random singapore stranger. Same kind of feeling.

Textbook says acquaintances are important you know. They are most likely the ones to help you get a job in future. So go on, people, make more acquaintances! And if you happen to have any angmoh acquaintances, GO FOR IT.

MOF2 spreads the love and peanut butter.

As mixed as strawberry mango fruit juice

I am very worried about everything.

I think I am enjoying uni life (surprise!) yet I don't feel the omega motivation I wanted to feel. Well, I do feel more motivated than in JC, probably because they don't have retests and re-retests. HAHA.

I think my to-do list is as long as toilet paper, yet the ability to prioritise is resulting in the procrastination. I choose to do things which are urgent (that's natural, isn't it...) and neglect the things which are not. Afterall, man has limited resources and unlimited wants. I think I have to watch 3 movies for my module or something. And before you go WHOA, so lucky!, I have to tell you that the movies are not like Cloudy with a chance of meatballs cute or Harry Potter cool or YES Man funny, they are like old old old black and white man with moustache woman in long dresses and go OHHHHH before they faint kind. I am going to fall asleep.

I want to watch movies. Ah Sin, where are you? And where's my email!

MOF2 signs off, feeling as mixed as strawberry mango fruit juice and as lazy as a lazy person and as tired as a tyre. Ah Jen, I miss you. Am I nice or what! :D HAHAHAHAHA.

Tips on having an effective recess week.

8 Tips for you guys out there struggling with recess week.

1. Choose a day to relax, preferably nearest to the start of recess week. Which is already over.

2. Study.

3. Study.

4. Study.

5. Study.

6. Study.

7. Do project.

8. Study. School will start soon.

So that you can have an effective recess week. Play can wait till Dec when all our exams are over. Gathering again! (:

Anyway, if you haven't rested, or felt that AH, WHERE GOT TIME TO REST, DON'T CRAP LAH, don't forget you are resting now by reading the blog! I'm going to attempt to interest you in a series of optical illusions I've seen at psychology lecture. Try them, I bet you'll be amused! Explanations/comments will be hidden (I'll try lah, hor. You know I'm low tech.) so that I don't spoil the effect. Just highlight the words and I think you should be able to see! Also, scroll down slowly so you don't see the answers before you see the illusions!

1. The Muller-Lyer Illusion: Look at the two red lines. Which is longer? (:

As you might have guess, they are of the same length. I was pretty amused by this, cuz in my textbook the diagram was a lot better. The Zulus in South Africa were able to see both lines as of the same length. Explanation was that they had a more "circular culture". Their houses, doors, windows were circular. Maybe we should take a break from straight, ninety degree buildings. (:

2. The Checkerboard Illusion: Look at squares A and B, which is darker?

They are of the same shade of gray! Don't believe? I didn't too! Evidence below!

Amazing right! :D Teehee. Now, the last one...

3. Awareness Test: Count the number of passes made by the white team.

Did you see the gorilla? I didn't on the first try though. A friend of mine had seen the video before and was tricked again! HAHA.

Tag if you do!

Okay, that's for now! I'm tired like a flat tyre so let's good night and sleep tight and conquer this thing called mid-terms! JIAYOU!

I <3 Zimbardo

Zimbardo is the author of my psych textbook. He was also the one who carried out the Stanford Prison Experiment if you recall what it was. The one we were made to read for GP, on how one group were prison guards and one group were prisoners and they were so into their roles. Yep, he carried that out.

I've been facing him for the past 5 days, with increasing amounts of time spent with him each day. I am drowning in psychology. My neurons are firing like mad. Action potentials are generated like crazy. My thalamus and frontal lobes are overworked. My memory is improved with heuristics and alogarithms. My senses have become more accute, passing neural impulses to form my perceptions. If this goes on, I have to use classical conditioning to train myself to rest. This is so crazy.

I even dreamt of schemas and scripts yesterday. Is this crazy or what.

And despite reading him for the entire week, I am still left with one and a half chapters. And I've only read the chapters once. ONCE leh. This is so crazy. I am going to need to see a psychologist even before I (hopefully) become one.

But it's my fault. I should have spent 7 hours per week (module requirement on number of preparatory hours per week) to read. After all, I need 5 or more hours to complete a chapter. 7 hours doesn't seem too exaggerated.

I have no life. My hideout is the library. The cafe galilee lady seems pissed because I book a table there from 12-6pm. Then again, no one eats at cafe galilee unless they are students. When I tutor kids, I peek at my notes. When I am free, I flip to the next chapter/section and read. When I finish reading, I jot down notes. And it's only for an MCQ test. I didn't even care to revise for vectors tests and retests and re-retests. I think in uni everything counts. Everyone is so motivated to do well you feel you have to do well too. And this test is of a lot of importance to me. Though it's only 20%, it's my chance to prove that I can do it, to prove that I will not fall, to prove that I can be as good as I want to. I don't think I feel stressed out, perhaps, just tired of psychology. Nevertheless, it is interesting. I don't have to drag myself to open the book (like I did for vectors notes). I feel happy when I study.

Okay, enough of ranting. And Teo Baowen, that was from AMK. The only way to reach school in 45mins from your house is to take a cab. And the only way to reach in less than 45mins is to teleport. For you need a bit longer cuz you might end up in NTU due to bad direction sense. HAHAHAHAHAHA. OMG, my first joke of the week leh, please laugh on the tagboard to show support.

Or I'll hypnotise you and turn you into a rhinoceros. Muahahahaha.

MOF2 signs off. Okay, actually we don't learn hypnotising in psychology. Inserts sad face.

P.S. I don't think I'll watch The Time Traveller's Wife already. Reason is as above.
P.P.S. No Survivor today! :O So emo, emo emo emo.
P.P.S.S. GYM Soh please don't disappear again. I visualised you being robbed of your phone and the person switched it off and you are stranded on an expressway walking like a beggar leh. I even wanted to go to the pool place at AMK to find you lah. Okay, I think I watch too many dramas.

Non Mihi Solum

It's me with my undying love for blogging again.

I went back to school today. And contrary to my belief, there were a lot of people in school on this public holiday. And I took the 74 + 151 combi today, so OMEGA fast. Zoom like a car, reached in 45mins leh! Super fast compared to my usual 1h15mins ride to school. And the experiment was freaky.

I think anger management is very important. Today I answered lots of questions about my emotions, and I conclude that people don't usually know I'm angry. Or they think I'm less angry than I really am. Though I don't feel like hitting anyone when I'm angry, I am still angry. Though I don't hurl F words like there's no tomorrow, I am still angry. Though I don't say I am very angry, I am still angry. And putting three statements like that make me sound angry, though I'm not really angry.

Jobjab ah, can lor, but must be morning. I need to spend night with family. Reunion leh, mid-autumn festival. We can eat mooncakes and play (free) frisbee. Bring recycled materials to have a MAKE-A-GREEN-LANTERN competition. Sounds good?

And Ah Sin! Miss Ter talked to me last night! Or rather, last evening for you all. She was living in the 20th and I am living in the 21st already. HAHA. Your freshmen orientataions must have started! Miss Ter promised to put lots of photos on fb when she's free, and you must too! Tag me in the snow photo (if it really snows!) cuz I'm so sua gu I've never seen snow! I'm so excited about you knowing people of so many nationalities, I hope I was there too :( Angmohs flooding the place leh.

Alright, I got to go sleep sleep so that I can wake early early to mug like a root beer.

CHANGE, WE NEED.

I think Obama said something along those lines.

Well, I wanted to try changing the template, but either they are too act cute for my liking or too rock and punk and scary. The ones I like somehow had some problem and couldn't be used (I don't know what problem, I suck at HTMLs).

Chanced upon this skin but decided not to use it. It feels so disgusting to see Phelps half naked all the time and I don't want to let you all the zhuan dao also. HAHA. Somemore I'm still hoping against hope that MOF1 and MOF3 will blog someday. After all, they have had "burning passion" and "undying love" for the blog. LOL.

I was happily planning how to spend recess week so that I can take a break but realised that there's no time. CRAPPPPPP. Sunday I have tuition from morning till 3, Monday I have to go for a meeting for project, then go back to faraway land in Clementi AKA And-You-Ass to participate in a Research, and then give tuition, Wednesday and Friday is tuition day againnn, and on Sat I have to go for an orientation for the NYAA Gold thing. .___. In essence, I think I'm left with 2 days for revision, for 2 modules with exams in the week following recess week. Ewwwww.

CHANGE, WE NEED LEH. Life is so monotonous now I need a bit of excitement. At least now I've found people who will laugh at my jokes. HAHA. :D Yayyy.

Aw, I think my life is getting boring. Sorry for the lack of interesting things to write. I can't help it if my life is a boring as a boar. Let me think, there must be something I wanted to tell you all.

Hmmmm. I'm sick of the food at The Deck. It makes me emo. And the library is freakishly quiet at night, I like. I stayed there till nearing 8.30pm, so loner hor. But I like leh. (: Alone and quiet. So many things you can do.

MOF2 signs off cuz she feels depressed that the library is the only exciting thing in her life. And she hasn't been to town since cows jumped over the moon and mid-autumn festival is coming. :( CHANGE, WE NEED!

Entertainment Weekly.

This is for all of you stressed out by school, very bothered about projects, even more bothered about assignments which makes up 10%/20%/30% of your grades, overwhelmed by the info you are supposed to absorb in the next 6 weeks before the holy final exams, feeling unprepared as compared to the girl who sat next to you during lecture cuz she already read readings for the next 10 weeks or feeling sick and tired of squeezing on public transport during peak hours with Jurong East-ers (for non-hall peeps) or inhaling in the bad bad gases (suck at Chem, you can tell) of inconsiderate hall mates and HTHT for the nth time (for hall peeps).

Before you start pulling every strand of hair, or maybe moaning over your serious hair loss due to the pent up stressed emotions in you, I am updating! :D

And yes, I forgot to add, but this is for all of you who are bored to death, stressed by the fact that you have nothing to do, reading magazines in pantry, pressing some keys on the keyboard and then backspacing to pretend you are busy, safeguarding the interests of our little nation, and serving this unbreakable 2 year bond called NS. I am updating too!

I'm busy like shit. Yet I feel that I have not maximised the amount of time I have and using it constructively. :(

Research programmes are bugging me to no end, but I'm glad I finally settled it. YAY. No more checking the website day and night just to sign up to participate in some studies to fulfill my module requirements. :D At least now I only have to wait to attend them and fill up 250 questions about whether I feel good about myself. Crap. Why not they just kope answers from each other ah. I think I've already answered like 300+ questions in various variations. For example:

The typical answer AGREE, STRONGLY AGREE, DISAGREE and STRONGLY DISAGREE kind of questions.

1) I am bothered by what others think about me.

2) What others say about me will influence me.

3. I do not do things which might cause others to have a negative impression of me.

4. I often think about how others will see me.

I don't know, maybe my analytical abilities sucks like lollipops, but they mean the same to me.

ANYWAY, my evil sister wants to use the commy com. So there ends this issue of entertainment weekly.

MOF2 signs off. Do you care about how others see you?

PS. HELLO MR TZY.

Show off a class photo.

I like this class photo a lot. It's my favourite class photo. (:
I hope no one was missing on that day. I think everyone was there, and it was very nice.
Anyway, I haven't started on Kah Hwee's card. I'm on a card making spree these days. I think this is my 5th card. HAHA. And I finally ran out of paper. Went to stock it up at Popular today. Nevermind, you can skip this part about my boring loner life unless you consider going to Popular something exciting.
Actually the pupose of the post was just to show off the class photo. Nothing else.
Going back to our JC today brought back some memories. Not as nostalgic as you imagine. Just some memories. Like makeup PE and things we used to do which we can't do in uni now. People move on. All we need is time I suppose.
Oh, I checked my bill today and it became -$1400+ (I can't remember the exact amount). I think I should go ask about it before the number changes yet again. Perhaps it varies with the day. The website PMSes.
Kay, I should start on her card. It's as late as a latecomer now, and I'm as sleepy as a slipper.
Ahmad says Selamat Malam. (: So does MOF2.

Ah Sin I feel sad.

First of all,

this post will be short because I'm tired and want to sleep but the title tells you that I must say all I want before I can sleep.

Secondly,

thanks for all your tags. Seeing you guys tag makes me very happy because I am secretly an attention seeking freak. NO LAH. It's always nice to know someone cares enough to read what you write. So thanks again, though sometimes I don't reply to your tags cuz when I get free enough to reply, they are overdue. .___. Like yah, I'm well already, thanks for the concern. (: And as for towers of Hanoi being called towers of Hanoi, I cannot give you a reasonable explanation though I'm glad to learn that it's a GP. Really. Finding out about it being a GP intrigues me so much I feel like doing a Vectors re-retest.

Thirdly,

school has been crazy as usual. I have to go to school tomorrow to find out why it states in my bill that I have to pay -$2001.27 for fees. I don't know how to pay negative amounts. Are they going to pay me or what?

So, back to the title.

Ah Sin I am really sad that you are leaving (or have left) and I can't emphasize how sad I feel. I feel so stupid when I went to your fb wall last night and saw the notes you posted counting down to the days you are leaving and I actually didn't realise it sooner. I feel bad that I couldn't have buffet with you before you left. I feel guilty that I wasn't able to send you off. I feel bad that I didn't give you the perfect farewell gift I wanted to give you. I feel regret that I cannot go back to our JC with you to visit everyone else. So next time please don't do such last minute things to your friends. It makes us all so so sad. Be a man. Do the right thing.

Anyway,

some things to remind Ah Sin to do:

1. Write on our walls.
2. Email me. I love replying emails though no one ever emails me.
3. Not say NOT FUNNY.
4. Make new friends who are nice to you, who won't laugh at you/ridicule you/look down on you.
5. Do us Chinese proud by being the top scholar.
6. Do 1307 proud by being the top scholar.
7. Email me if you have any problems. I have listening ears for loan. Did I just mention I love replying emails?

Okay? Tag tag tag on the tagboard kay. ALL THE TIME. I don't care if I don't understand what you are tagging (G Gap). Just tag. We need to know you are still alive.

MOF2 signs off. See lah ah sin, you make me so emo I want to change the URL to iamanemogirl.blogspot.com.

Towers of Hanoi.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!

Aren't you glad to see me blog again! HAHA. I know you have secretly been refreshing this page every 1.381 seconds in the hope that you can see a new post.

Anyway, I wanted to post this cool video up after the first Psych lecture. Towers of Hanoi. You might not have heard of the name, but I guess most of us have heard of a similar game.

From Wikipedia, the Tower of Hanoi or Towers of Hanoi (also known as The Towers of Brahma) is a mathematical game or puzzle. It consists of three rods, and a number of disks of different sizes which can slide onto any rod. The puzzle starts with the disks neatly stacked in the order of size on one rod, the smallest at the top, thus making a conical shape.

The objective of the puzzle is to move the entire stack to another rod, obeying the following rules:

- Only one disk may be moved at a time.
- Each move consists of taking the upper disk from one of the rods and sliding it onto another rod, on top of the other disks that may already be present on that rod.
- No disk may be placed on top of a smaller disk.

So that's a fast fast Towers of Hanoi for you. (:

I didn't go to school today cuz I'm sick. SIGH. Didn't go for the first english tutorial leh. I'm going to have no friends. :( But I was talking to another new friend I knew through another tutorial, and we both agreed that it's tiring that we have to make friends all the time. Like for these modules I'm taking, I have to make these friends. And then when I take new modules next sem, I make other friends, and it all starts over again.

This person I just knew daringly asked me, "Are you usually so quiet?"

And I bravely answered, "No."

She wanted to ask more, but someone else cut in and asked her a question, and she soon forgot, fortunately. I wouldn't want to admit to a semi-stranger that I suck at making friends.

Anyway, ideas for lunchtime Tuesday next next week? Let's make it a fortnight thing. Haha. Shall we go to Engin canteen this time? Volunteers please. (:

I'm thinking of what to do tomorrow. Perhaps I should be socially irresponsible and go ahead with THE PROPOSAL. HAHA. Perhaps I should study a little, seeing how far behind I am in terms of my readings. :( Perhaps I should rest and relax. And I'm thinking if I should cancel tuition, because it's a PAY-TUITION-FEE lesson. If cancel then I've to wait a thousand years for money to come in. $72++ on books yesterday already make my heart pain like mad. 2 books only lehhhhhhhhh.

Okay, I've nothing else to write. Go watch Towers of Hanoi, I think it's uber cool!

MOF2 signs off with a flu.

My Week!

That's Sentosa on Monday, 10 August 2009. How time flies huh. I didn't even realised it has been one week!

So there, I haven't updated for so so long. Of course, not as long as the other two who-shalt-not-be-named. I only remember my past week as travelling on the MRT/bus and staring at lecturers for less than 2 hours each day because lectures just end so fast. I spend more time travelling than actually really learning something. HAHA.

Lunchtime Monday cannot commence as yet, because I haven't got your timetables and I haven't even got my own confirmed timetable. As of yet, my Monday lessons are from 6-8pm so if anyone is interested in Dinnertime Monday or betterstill, Supper Monday, you can look for me. I'll prolly be hanging around Science Faculty (I have no idea why my lecture is there). Hee.

The week for me was more interesting than my whole half a year at home/at tuition/on Facebook. HAHA. Met this teochew speaking lady and it made my day at school so OMEGA interesting. LOL. Must tell you all someday. Everything is a fresh start, and that's good I suppose. To Seeing and MOF3 who do not sound happy in a new environment, here are some loner's tips. After all, I rock at being a loner.

#1: Play Quadrapop when alone. DJD made me wait for her and armed with only a handphone, I had to play Quadrapop ALONE to kill time. So loner, I know.

#2: Name your fingers. Stevie, Bob, Danny, Leon and Ahmad.

#3: Stone at the stone table.

#4: Furiously type smses and then not send them. And then furiously type smses again. See how a handphone is so important?

#5: Enter lectures late. Therefore you need to find any empty seat to sit down. Therefore no one knows you have no friends. But MOF3 told me there are some lectures with breaks and people with friends will move beside their friends to sit. Solution? Go toilet and emo lor.

Hope they were of use. Of course, you may purchase the full Loner's Guide to Being Lonely. Pre-order starts today.

I'm taking this module called Crime Fiction in English and Chinese, and it's very interesting. We do Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie and CSI and Justice Bao and even Infernal Affairs! (: Uber cool. Minus point 1: Lecturer is PRC, but I'm not racist. Minus point 2: Omega lots of readings to do. Must read a book by first tutorial and Agatha Christie novel by second tutorial.

Other lectures are just so-so I guess. But I'm really very excited about school, haha. I feel like a P1 kid. And no, I didn't cry on my first day of school.

I guess that's all I can remember from my week. Anyone keen to visit our Alma Mater on Friday? Maybe Ah Sin can book courts for badminton then go see Xiao Mei or something? (: I'm Omega excited about school. HAHA.

GYM SOH, GET WELL SOON! Feel free to call me if you're bored, but I'm Omega busy on weekends! :( Still, rest well! I can send you Chrysanthemun Tea if it helps!

MOF2 signs off. She can't wait for lecture from 6-8pm tomorrow. Really. Really really. (:

We Will Win the War.

Ha, surprisingly, the Oweek cheers are like stuck in my head. I can't stop thinking about them. And I wasn't even very enthu about cheers lor.

But but but, when my house won that day, I was really really really happy. (:

Will probably tell you all about my Oweek if you are even interested, but really, there's nothing really memorable about it.

I want to know badly if we won Rag too. :( I really hope we do, cuz our float was really nice and cool. :D But google only manages to give me news on last year's rag.

Was really really tired that day when I returned from school. Left at 11 plus and reached home after 12.30am. I feel like a bad girl who hangs out late after school, but really, I don't want to stay to far away too. Lucky for me, lectures are as late as XYZ for the next two weeks cuz tutorials haven't started. One lecture for me daily except for Thurs when I have 2 lectures. Will try to leave Fridays free so PJ and Seeing and whoever is as free as a free gift on Friday we can go out and laugh at people who have school on Friday kay! HAHA.

I really really really can't wait to see you all tomorrow. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

WHEE.

Okay, I have to try to settle tutorials. SIGH. So troublesome. Everything also got to choose myself. BLEAGH.

MOF2 signs off. We, will win the war, we, will win the war, we, will win the war, this time!

I miss you!

Yes, I miss you, you, you and you!

I finally know what's it's like to book out. Really. The highness just cannot be explained in mere words. And really, going to uni is literally like booking in. Everyday, I travel over the overhead bridges and brave MRT/bus rides and fight off commuters who try to squeeze me out of the doors. And with blood and sweat I struggle to enter the doors of my school after the long ardous 1hour+ (usually around 1hour20mins) journey, and start to trek up the hills to get to the holy building. Often, if not all the time, I lose my way and I try to spot people wearing THE SHIRT so that I can secretly follow them.

And then, I try to mingle and fit in, but I seriously suck at doing the "Hi, my name is blah blah blah, what's yours? *sweet smile*" thing, so I think I look uber anti-social. I secretly dislike people who are too high when I don't even know you well. I don't do cheers, I don't play games. Basically I think I'm just the worse OG mate any OGL would want to have.

But I secretly enjoyed myself. I really love my House and the dumb cheers they do. I just don't like making friends, and I don't think 1 week is sufficient for us to know each other really well. I did try to participate more, because I think my OGL is secretly unhappy with it. HAHA. Okay, I am just a difficult woman.

But but but, I really missed you all! REALLY! I missed us. A lot a lot a lot. A lot a lot a lot a lot okay. Every single one of you. I wanted to call all of you out today but I still had to go for tuition. I was totally staring into space and my tutee could actually tell, so I guess I did look listless. Orientation is super mentally tiring, and from next week onwards it'll be physically tiring too. I'm so not looking forward, but I really love my house! (:

Please pray for me kay. Pray that I do not become anti-social (I think I am cuz I don't join them for dinners/outings and even stayovers. HAHA), pray that I can find my way, pray that I can endure the week ahead, pray that I don't end up eating with Stevie, Bob, Danny, Leon and Ahmad only. :(

With that, I wish you all a good day ahead too! OUTING ANYONE?!?!?!?! I REALLY MISS US!

MOF2 signs off. BOOKING IN ON MONDAY AGAIN. OMG.

A post a day keeps the doctor away.

I can't believe school is starting so soon.

It's so unbelievablur. (Pronounce it, the effect is cool HAHA.) I didn't even realise we had to start bidding on 30th July, i.e. next Thurs. And seeing how fast the week passed, I wouldn't be surprised if Thursday feels like today's tomorrow.

(fei tian xi shi is starting in 4 mins, I better type fast!)

Yah, as I was saying, school is starting soooooooooooo soon. Next week will be so busy I don't think I'll even have time for anything else.

One last class gathering before evil school starts? (: And we can do Lunchtime Monday soon. :D Eggciting.

I did the health checkup today, at somewhere else. They did prick my finger for some blood. Quote of the day: "Is your blood still dripping?" Pretty amazing, cuz when she knew my blood hasn't clotted, she sqeezed my finger so that she could get more blood. At least she didn't prick all my fingers.

And X-ray wasn't what I imagined. I thought you get to stand behind black screens and then flash and you can see your bones. Ya know, the cartoon kind?

MOF2 signs off. School is starting soon. It feels like I'm booking in.

Heal The World.

I hope you can see the video. HEAL THE WORLD. The song was stuck in my head since TS couldn't stop playing it. The song starts about 1min into the MV, so be patient. I bet you've heard it before too. (:

Double post. Can you tell how bored I am?! :D

I sign off. What's new? It's MOF2 luh.

Eclipse + H1N1 + Nicholas Sparks + SHE's Remember

1. Eclipse

I woke up early to watch Channel U to see the full eclipse in China. It was quite an amazing sight, with 5mins of total darkness there. Street lamps were lit and it was like fast forwarding time. And PJ, this is the pearl-like thing I told ya about. Doesn't it look like a ring?

The pics are not from this year's eclipse though. I think they are still busy photo-shopping the images. I think we can see some great photos from this year's eclipse. (:

This is when there is total darkness. And you can literally see the effect of the convection current on the sun's surface due to the temperature difference on the surface and in the inner core. Simply magnificent. (: I'm trying to find pics of the sky when the sun is reduced to a thin line, but I don't know what key words to use in google. HAHA.

The next eclipse isn't really like 400years later lah. There will be one in Beijing in 2035 I think. Just have to wait 26 more years

2. H1N1

I read in the papers yesterday that 50% of flu cases are H1N1 cases and I'm really worried for myself. Should I go see the doctor ah? I think I should cuz we should be socially responsible. But I'm almost well already, and I have no fever/cough. How how how? Okay, I think I should see the doctor. Haha.

3. Nicholas Sparks

To increase the depth of this blog, I shall share with you readers on this Whooping Wednesday (WaisinWeek!) [Aliteration!] 2 quotes from Nicholas Sparks' Novel, The Notebook. I finished the book quite a long time ago, but I didn't return it because I want to share this with all of you and make us all a little smarter. HAHA.

"We sit silently and watch the world around us. This has taken us a lifetime to learn. It seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking. This is the great paradox."

So next time, when you meet a 冷场, you can mumble this quote and TA-DAAH, all moments of awkwardness will dissolve. HAHAHAHA. Okay, I betcha didn't even read the quote I've painstakingly typed out. Please scroll up and at least browse through it.

"Dusk, I realized then, is just an illusion, because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are; there cannot be one without the other, yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel, I remember wondering, to be always together, yet forever apart?"

That's food for thought. Go on, it's so thought provoking. Put on your thinking caps now!

4. SHE's Remember

I heard this song on the radio last night, and I realised that the tune is the same as Swan Lake. Sigh, copykittens. I prefer Swan Lake though.

MOF2 signs off with a blocked nose. She thinks she's a fisherman, cuz her best friend is fisherman's friend.

This is for PJ.

Since PJ thinks the whole world should blog, the whole world should.

As her fairy godmother, I should lead by example.

AH SIN/TEO BAO WEN/SEEING THE BELIEVING, if you all are reading this, you better start a blog. And to you-who-I-shan't-name, don't think I don't know you are reading this ah, go start a blog. And update 5 times a day so that PJ can feel happy.

Did anyone realise it's Ah Sin week already? How time flies. Come on, take out your rusty old wires. :X Thou shalt not say much.

I watched Spongebob today and Patrick really cracks me up. You win this round, Broccoli!

Oh, I'm on "MC" today because I'm sick. Can't stop sneez-ion and cough-ion. Doncha think if you replace -ing with -ion the name sounds alien? HAHA. Sneez-ion and Cough-ion. Maybe Stevion will love it. With Bobion, Dannion, Leonion and Ahmadion. (: Now they sound like elements of the periodic table.

Watch Harry Potter (I don't like to call it HP, it reminds me of a printer more than the wizard himself. I don't understand why it's called Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince still. And I think if you want to watch it you will. No matter what people say about it. So go on, contribute to the ticket sales of Harry Potter.

I <3 no work days. (:

MOF2 signs off, PJ, are you happy again? :D HAHA. And she sends her deepest regrets and heartfelt apologies to those whom she pangseh-ed today.
