3 challenges in 2011

Since I am low in openness to experience and extraversion, I shall challenge myself to do 3 things in 2011:

1. Go for OCIP/Summer School Programme.

My sister took this photo when she went to Cambodia this year with my uncle and aunt. They brought donations to an orphanage there, which my aunt is (I think) involved in. This is the famous "kids rowing in buckets asking for donations from tourists in boats". I've seen it somewhere before, it's like when you give one then the rest would come too. It's also very risky to actually row there cuz of the currents (they are afterall just kids so many not have the energy to go against the current) and also cuz of diseases which are water-bred.

Just felt like I should at least try to step out of Singapore and gain new insights. Haha.

Summer school is of course the other alternative but since everything is CAP CAP CAP then it may not be too possible. Still, have hope! HAHA. I really wish to open myself to a new experience.

2. Take up the role of leading/organising a project.

Prolly for Meet-the-Angmohs, since it's the only thing I am involved in so far. I have no intentions of joining a CCA anymore, so I shall dedicate time to this!

3. Be open to making friends. (I don't mean increase the number of people I know. Personally think it's lame to try to know a lot of people. I mean changing the attitude towards knowing people.)

I only spoke 2 sentences in tutorial todayy. :S And it's not even to the class. It's to my group mates. LOL. First sentence was something along the lines of "I think you are referring to social class" and the second sentence was "My number is ___________" when they were exchanging numbers. I think they secretly call me the girl who doesn't speak. Much as I hate to, I shall try to open myself to these horrible strangers so that we can at least effectively communicate. I think my problem is that I judge too much, and when someone else is more outspoken, I wouldn't speak up at all. I know you still refuse to believe I am shy lah. I really am! VERY. Besides I always convince myself that I cannot be bothered to try to know people because it can get really lame. HAHA. Which I still strongly believe in.

And to show off my skills in fortune telling, I predict #2 will come true, #3 will semi-come true, and #1 will not. HAHA! Okay that makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy already, shit.

I am shy.

I keep telling people I am shy but no one believes me.

So I did a personality test (okay, as a part of my module assignment) and the results were that I am low in extraversion and even lower in openness to experience. The comments were super hurtful lah, it says Low in Openness to Experience means I am simple and shallow. WHERE GOT WHERE GOT. I hardly talk about getting 20,000 readers lor.

Upon reflection, I realised this is very true. When I was choosing JCs, I pretended to consider other JCs but deep in my heart I knew where I was going to choose. When I keep saying I wanna go for exchange, I know I wouldn't dare to step out of my comfort zone and do it. And I can already see my path in the next 10 years, what I am going to do with my life, what kind of jobs I am going to do etc. My life is as predictable as fortune telling. (HAHAHAHA, I love my own similes!)

Worse is, I find nothing wrong with it. I once told a friend that I need a lot a lot a lot of time before I can trust enough to share. A lot a lot of time refers to both qualitative and quantitative. I don't know what made me like that too, very scary!

You think know where you stand, but maybe you are standing further away than you think.

I just want to remind all girls,

to stop whole-heartedly believing whatever a man tells you. Especially when they tell you they are "going to wait for you". Cuz it's bullshit. They never wait. No one waits for anyone. Everyone moves on.

Because if they really want to wait for you, they will show it to you. I'm sure you don't need me to remind you that action speaks louder than words. So stop falling into the same old trap, please. Save yourself!

And no, no one offended me. It's just one of those things I hear and felt like I had to share. We all need reminders from time to time, because sometimes we are so blinded that we fail to see the big picture. I know it's hard--it's always hard, but I think these serve as good reminders for everyone, including myself. HAHA.

Experienced a 心痛的感觉 today, because I just bought another textbook. I spent a lot of money on textbooks, and this is illogical because I only bought 1 first-hand book this sem. There is a module which requires 3 textbooks (I don't know how I can finish them) and it costs me ~$130 and it's second-hand luh! The one I bought today was $79 after discount. :S

I haven't written a really long post for quite some time I think. And my new media experience with Twitter is terrible. Partly because I have no data plan so the only times I can tweet is when I am in the public library or at McDonalds. I can't connect to the wireless in school because it keeps telling me I need Opera and I downloaded Opera 1293190890 times only to be told I still need Opera. WHAT IS OPERA LAH YOU TELL ME.

Okay end of post. Too tired. I feel like an 80-year-old.

From Facebook.

Boys are stronger than girls?
PLEASE

Can you bleed for a week and survive? Can you squeeze 14 inch baby from a 9 centimeter hole? Can you carry a 7 pound baby in your stomach for 9 months? Can you take care of a child, cook, clean, and talk on the phone at once? Can you carry 10 8 pound shopping bags? Can you go a week only eating salad? Can you face heartbreak? Can you watch the love of your life be with someone else?

Finally, someone to speak up for the women! :)

Just so that I can listen to it everyday.

My Twitter Account.

I just set up a Twitter account for my new media module. We're supposed to use a form of new media which we have not been exposed to before, so I decided that Twitter is the easiest since it'll take me 19023819 years to learn to upload a video on Youtube and it'll cost me 19038109 dollars to get an iPhone.

So if you know what to do with a Twitter account, please tell me. I don't know why I set up the account too because I don't have data plan. Which means the only times I tweet is when I'm using the com (which makes it facebook status updating?) and when I'm in the public library. :S

For the interested, my account is PrisPasta. I don't know if it works actually because I tried and it says "Page does not exist". HAHAHAHA. I can't stand myself for being so not tech-savvy!

Bankrupt.

Well, almost. 1500 for a module, heart ache like mad. But for the sake of my angmoh lecturer who is (almost) funny, it should be worth it. Looked at the com the whole day and I feel like my eyes are going to fall out anytime.

Bathe, then dinner! Finally a break from the com. Charge phone + Sleep + Tea Tree Mask to meet my angmohs tomorrow. HAHAHAHA.

I can't wait to go to Cidy Hall with my sistels. Remembel, Barbarella only loves Chantel. <3

I miss.

Having real fun. A whole day of real fun.

Aren't you irritated by my one-liners which you cannot decipher? HAHAHHAHA.

♥ Portugese Egg Tart ♥

Super nice!

I think I have been walking around the same spot for a long long time. Things are getting too predictably predictable, monotonously monotonous. It's time for something drastically drastic to happen. To learn what I can do with my life, to venture into the places where I dare not go into, and to take the road not taken.

I hate that poem.

2011

Happy New Year.

I wish to say no more. :)
