In the jungle, the deep deep jungle.

Once upon a time, there was a jungle. In this jungle, there was a powerful lion. One day, the lion gathered all the animals and told them to take turns to tell him a joke. The rule is that all animals must laugh at the joke. If any animal failed to laugh, the lion would kill the animal which told the joke.

So the monkey went first. "Two men walked into the bar..." He finished his joke. All the animals were laughing till their sides ached. All except the tortoise. And so, the lion killed the monkey.

Next up was the giraffe. The giraffe told his joke, and all the animals burst into laughter. All except the tortoise. So, the lion killed the giraffe too.

This went on for some time. Soon, the animals became angry with the tortoise.

It was then panda's turn to tell his joke. But when panda finished his first sentence, the tortoise broke into squeals of laughter. The lion was enraged. "Why did you laugh, tortoise. The joke isn't even funny!" the lion boomed.

"I can't help it...Monkey's joke was too funny!"

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Long time since a joke made me laugh out loud leh. Read it from the Reader's Digest. Would like to give you credit, but unfortunately I forgot who you are. Sorry! But really very funny! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

P.S. Won't be blogging much I think. You can always look at my tweets. Blogged cuz twitter has 140 word limit which always makes my jokes not funny. Sian. :S So look there! --------------->

Who is Khoo Teck Puat?

I just found out who Khoo Teck Puat is when I was researching for my marketing assignment on Maybank. Before this, I only knew that he has a hospital named after him (in my beloved Yishun), which is new and hence super efficient according to fellow wisdom-teeth removees.

OMGGGGGGG HE IUSED TO BE THE RICHEST MAN IN SINGAPORE LAH HOW COULD I NOT KNOW. He founded Maybank. Plus he owns Goodwood Park Hotel (the buffet there is super nice!) And his family funded the building of the hospital, which was why it was named after him. His son is Eric Khoo, who produced the movie 'My Magic' (with the fat Indian man swallowing fire and walking on broken glass pieces, the one they showed a couple of times on Okto).

Okay, end of post. Just realised that I don't know much about Khoo Teck Puat so now that I know a little, I feel like showing off my knowledge. Back to my assignment.

Take that, you who think it's cool to have 20,000 friends.

Click HERE to read the article on the phenomenon called Facebook Friend Farming.

It says that we are incapable of forming more than 150 close ties, because it is our cognitive limit. So don't feel like a loser if you only have 150 friends! And don't feel like winner if you have more! :D

What's with Valentine's Day.

Haha, just a cute Vday cartoon I saw.

So, what's with Valentine's day?

1. I can't stand people who keep talking about how businesses profit a lot on Vday, and how it's a stupid trap for consumers and that we should show our love everyday and not just on this stupid day.

I think they are just plain jealous, haha! We could try to see it from another perspective: If you haven't expressed your love for your partner all year round, why not do it on this special day? I know it is a social construct and that we give meaning to this day, it's all an evil plot by florists who only earn money once a year blah blah blah, but I still find it meaningful (in some way). If not you want Valentine's Day to become like Boxing Day meh? Don't even know what to do on Boxing Day, plus not public holiday somemore. :S

True businesses profit a lot, but don't be so jealous luh. Once a year, surely you can save for the occassion right.

2. I can't stand people who keep complaining that their Valentine's Day was boring.

Like how exciting do you expect it to be if you are single and very available and waiting desperately as your expiry date nears? Boring then boring lah! What to do? You have been spending the last few years of your life like that, aren't you used to it already? You are no longer with your ex, aren't you over it already? When people tell me that they are "very sad" on Valentine's Day, I don't understand why. What's there to be sad about if I spend every Valentine's Day the same way? (I know you secretly think I'm a loserrrrrrrr lor.)

So in essence, this post tells you that I am a loser who secretly likes Valentine's Day but no date and thus has to listen to other losers complain about how much they hate it such that I have to post that I am a loser.

TELL ME IF IT IS FAMILIAR OMG.

Haha, I finally found the title of the tune that whose name I always wanted to know. The thing with a tune is, you can't google it and know the name. Google should have this function luh, called maybe Tungle (Tune + Google) whereby you can hum a song into your mic and they google the name of the song for you. It will definitely help people like me who try to act class and appreciate art once in a while.

Back to the topic, it's called the HUNGARIAN DANCE! :D I'm sure you've heard it before, please click on the play button and tell me if you know anot! I'm so omega excited!

So...It's Feb.

And I'm going to have tests and tests and projects and projects and assignments and assigments due. Which explains the lack of posts (though I quite enjoy seeing the photo of the little girl in the bucket when I enter my own site).

This sem feels more intensive than the last one, even though I suspect my workload should be lighter. But my level 3 mods are killing me (softly with this song~) I don't know why. They are so demanding --> Project + Own final report+ 2 quizes + Mid term + Final term, and I keep having group work. I used to quite look forward to group work until... nevermind, I'm just glad one of it is over.

I'm taking a marketing module now too, and it sounds really exciting. My group mates all look and sound enthu, I like! HAHA. At least I won't sound like a naggy old lady if I keep pestering them to start on the project. And it's so exciting but I'm not going to tell you why. HEEHEE. Suspense, suspense.

My favourite student's mum gave me another huge red packet this cny. Last year she also gave me this much money (which explains why he is my favourite student) but this year she gave me one box of pineapple tarts + tidbits from Marks and Spencer. He's going to continue to be my favourite student for this year man. HAHA. I can't believe I've taught him for 2 years already, this will be my third year tutoring him. I secretly hope I get to teach his sister (cuz he's already P6 this year, don't think they want tuition for Sec1) so that I can continue getting red packets. HAHAHAHA.

Can't wait for recess week to come come come. But let me first ace the test on Tues please! :D
