Eclipse + H1N1 + Nicholas Sparks + SHE's Remember

1. Eclipse

I woke up early to watch Channel U to see the full eclipse in China. It was quite an amazing sight, with 5mins of total darkness there. Street lamps were lit and it was like fast forwarding time. And PJ, this is the pearl-like thing I told ya about. Doesn't it look like a ring?

The pics are not from this year's eclipse though. I think they are still busy photo-shopping the images. I think we can see some great photos from this year's eclipse. (:

This is when there is total darkness. And you can literally see the effect of the convection current on the sun's surface due to the temperature difference on the surface and in the inner core. Simply magnificent. (: I'm trying to find pics of the sky when the sun is reduced to a thin line, but I don't know what key words to use in google. HAHA.

The next eclipse isn't really like 400years later lah. There will be one in Beijing in 2035 I think. Just have to wait 26 more years

2. H1N1

I read in the papers yesterday that 50% of flu cases are H1N1 cases and I'm really worried for myself. Should I go see the doctor ah? I think I should cuz we should be socially responsible. But I'm almost well already, and I have no fever/cough. How how how? Okay, I think I should see the doctor. Haha.

3. Nicholas Sparks

To increase the depth of this blog, I shall share with you readers on this Whooping Wednesday (WaisinWeek!) [Aliteration!] 2 quotes from Nicholas Sparks' Novel, The Notebook. I finished the book quite a long time ago, but I didn't return it because I want to share this with all of you and make us all a little smarter. HAHA.

"We sit silently and watch the world around us. This has taken us a lifetime to learn. It seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking. This is the great paradox."

So next time, when you meet a 冷场, you can mumble this quote and TA-DAAH, all moments of awkwardness will dissolve. HAHAHAHA. Okay, I betcha didn't even read the quote I've painstakingly typed out. Please scroll up and at least browse through it.

"Dusk, I realized then, is just an illusion, because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are; there cannot be one without the other, yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel, I remember wondering, to be always together, yet forever apart?"

That's food for thought. Go on, it's so thought provoking. Put on your thinking caps now!

4. SHE's Remember

I heard this song on the radio last night, and I realised that the tune is the same as Swan Lake. Sigh, copykittens. I prefer Swan Lake though.

MOF2 signs off with a blocked nose. She thinks she's a fisherman, cuz her best friend is fisherman's friend.
