Clark and Hatfield did a study in 1989. They got a male confederate to go up to random girls and asked them three questions:
"Hi, I've been noticing you for quite some time and I find you very attractive. Would you like to go out on a date with me?"
"Would you like to go to my apartment?"
"Would you like to have sex with me?"
to which 55% of the females agreed to go on the date, 6% agreed to go to his apartment, and 0% agreed to have sex. I'm so proud of you girls!
So, they got a female confederate to go up to random guys and asked them the same three questions:
"Hi, I've been noticing you for quite some time and I find you very attractive. Would you like to go out on a date with me?"
"Would you like to go to my apartment?"
"Would you like to have sex with me?"
to which 50% of the men agreed to go on the date, 69% of the men agreed to go to her apartment, and 75% agreed to have sex with her.
The only excuse I can think for you Singaporean men is that the study was done in US and not Singapore. Lecturer pretended to censor the male results and told us that he doesn't want to destroy the girls' impression of their innocent male counterparts. HAHA. We all know the truth, don't we.
