2011 in a blog post.

A card I drew for Christmas last year.

January: Set up a Twitter account for the NM module I was taking at that time, and I'm proud to be maintaining it till now. Okay partly cuz I think I love to get followers. It makes me feel like I'm the leader of this powerful cult and I can manipulate them. And I also wrote a blog post on how much I love Portuguese Egg Tarts. FORESHADOWING the HK trip which is going to happen. Woohoo. And I wrote about my three resolutions,1. Go for OCIP/Summer School Programme (P Went for CUHK Summer School!), 2. Take up the role of leading/organising a project (P Doing now, organising something for know-the-angmohs) and 3. Be open to making friends (P Okay lah, personally think I was a little more open. At least in Year 3 Sem 1. I kind of enjoyed all the projects I did.)

February: It was CNY and collecting angbaos. I wrote about how happy I was that my tutee's mum gave me a lot of money for CNY. I'm so glad CNY is coming soon and I am now tutoring his sis.

March: Japan's Earthquake. I wrote about how I felt it was karma. I think I was (and still am) biased against Japan. I just don't like the country for some reason. I must have been a war hero in my past life. I also wrote about how much I adored Hossan Leong and have been wanting to go watch his show. FORSHADOWING AGAIN! HAHA. Of course, I eventually went to watch it.

April: Exams, hence nothing much. I think this was when I applied for Summer School and got a place to go for it despite being (almost) rejected.

May: Looking for a job to pass time and failing to do it. Oh the General Elections which kept me and dad up the whole night, waiting to see who claims Aljunied.

June: Was bored at home till I fell sick before going to HK.

July: No archives cuz I was enjoying myself in HK. It was definitely the most memorable event of the year. I still think of random moments we experienced there and smile to myself these days. One day, I shall visit HK again. I also met my first ABC friend (Yoohoo, S_ms_n!) and drank the most amount of alcohol in one day (I think 2 sips? HAHAHAHAHA). And I love love love Ocean Park! I also did a module which I will never ever take when I am sane and I ended up developing some interest in it. Partly because I think my prof was really passionate about what he was teaching (he looked older than 70 and yet is still teaching!) and his classes were quite interesting.

August: So, back to reality after a month of uh, being the most out of control I can ever be. HAHAHAHA. I know that sounds misleading, I don't think I was out of control at any moment lah. Except when we slept at 3 or 4am on some days. I made the mistake of taking Forensic Science because it marked the start of cabbing home almost every Friday. HAHA. But it was a fun module still. And Group Dynamics project which I was glad to be part of.

September: I bought Realman Dontslang! By the way he has shrunk to his original mini size ever since he got out of the water. Easier for me to keep him too. HAHA. Receiving Teachers' Day gifts and feeling happy about it. Plus celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival!

October: Finding out that liu sha bao in Utown tastes as great as the great wall of China. Plus spreading "If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it".

November: Exams. Boring.

December: Eating life-transforming Char Siew Baos. Going to Malaysia to visit granddad and family. And meeting up with JC mates for Christmas! Oh and not forgetting the annual family gathering where all kids get presents. HAHA. I really loved my Christmas presents this year!

In all, the year seemed to have been great. The highlight of my year was definitely (repeating it for the 100th time) the HK trip. I was glad I took the bold step out of my comfort zone (okay well not exactly, I did it with someone I know so it should be a calculated risk) and went for it. There were many things I tried on that trip. I took the plane without my family for the first time, packed my own lugguage, buy groceries, wash own clothes, make friends, learn to be street smart and identify people you can trust, calculate the amount of money I can spend everyday, celebrated my birthday overseas with strangers, explore new places, experienced indigestion, took care of others and others took care of me, travelled with a chauffeur, hung out with bungee jumpers, met Ah Sin in another country other than SG, took a module on China...the list goes on. It makes me happy when I think of the moments we shared in HK.

I like the fact that I've made new friends in psych whom I can hang out with. I really love their company. I am also thankful that old friends are still keeping in touch. Cheers to 2011! I can't believe I wrote such a long post! :D
