What's with Valentine's Day.

Haha, just a cute Vday cartoon I saw.

So, what's with Valentine's day?

1. I can't stand people who keep talking about how businesses profit a lot on Vday, and how it's a stupid trap for consumers and that we should show our love everyday and not just on this stupid day.

I think they are just plain jealous, haha! We could try to see it from another perspective: If you haven't expressed your love for your partner all year round, why not do it on this special day? I know it is a social construct and that we give meaning to this day, it's all an evil plot by florists who only earn money once a year blah blah blah, but I still find it meaningful (in some way). If not you want Valentine's Day to become like Boxing Day meh? Don't even know what to do on Boxing Day, plus not public holiday somemore. :S

True businesses profit a lot, but don't be so jealous luh. Once a year, surely you can save for the occassion right.

2. I can't stand people who keep complaining that their Valentine's Day was boring.

Like how exciting do you expect it to be if you are single and very available and waiting desperately as your expiry date nears? Boring then boring lah! What to do? You have been spending the last few years of your life like that, aren't you used to it already? You are no longer with your ex, aren't you over it already? When people tell me that they are "very sad" on Valentine's Day, I don't understand why. What's there to be sad about if I spend every Valentine's Day the same way? (I know you secretly think I'm a loserrrrrrrr lor.)

So in essence, this post tells you that I am a loser who secretly likes Valentine's Day but no date and thus has to listen to other losers complain about how much they hate it such that I have to post that I am a loser.
