Random kitten sitting #likeaboss
Life has been pretty tiring for me this week cuz I've been waking up at 730 everyday for work. Except today, whereby I woke up at 9 and felt that it's beautiful to be able to sleep till 9am. Oh and except for that one day when I could report to work later at 10am instead of 9am and I found the world more beautiful cuz I get seats on the Circle Line and I can breathe on the red line.
But the nice thing about this job is I end work at 4pm latest (usually). The earliest I left work was at 3pm. So I get to make full use of my concession and go walk walk around at other places. In the past week I went to J8, City Hall area (to run some errand), IMM, JCube, AMK Hub. Haha, love it when I tap tap tap away #likeaboss!
Today I bumped into a friend and she showed me this book she was reading. It was about North Korea. I managed to read the first few pages. The book contained interviews done with a few people who were defected from North Korea. I came across this story told by a woman about life there. She says it's very dark at night, so dark that you couldn't see the buildings on either side of the road. She was seeing this man at that time, but cuz the man was of a higher social status they couldn't be seen together in the day. So they could only meet at night when no one could see them. And the author wrote something along the lines of when we think of North Korea we think of poverty, suffering, hardship, how can they live in such conditions, what are the leaders doing, omg they are so poor thing etc, we forget that they are actually humans like us, and that love still exists. It sounds hopeful for a moment.
And we started talking about North Korea for some time. About how the people try and try to escape from there. READ if interested. Makes me so sad!
When we think our problems are great, and we look at people with greater problems and how they are so determined, our problems become so much smaller in comparison. Life is great!
